1. What is Astrology?
Astrology is a science of observation of human behavior and world events as they occur in conjunction with planetary movements. These observations have been passed down by oral and written traditions for thousands of years. The predictive side of Astrology is possible by being knowledgeable of planetary causes and effects from the past and noting that similar planetary configurations are repeating themselves; therefore the outcomes would be similar. Most people are very aware of certain patterns in their own lives, such as 7 year cycles, full moons and the confusing effects of a retrograde Mercury.
2. In the past, you have taught Astrology. What are the key things you want your students to take from the course?
I want my students to know themselves as individuals working through the planetary energies of their charts, to recognize patterns of opportunity, talent and challenge and understand them. I especially want them to be aware of timing, when to act and when to wait before making decisions. Learning how each sign communicates and how to respond, is a wonderful tool for success in all relationship situations. I believe this is my and my students favorite and fun class.
It is important however, to know the deeper or inner meanings of the planets and signs as well as the outer more worldly indications and how to handle situations in life from both levels. This perspective improves the student's relationship with themselves as well as with the world. I want them to feel more free, more capable and empowered.
3. How do the stars play a role of who we are, our life, relationships and future?
At the moment of birth, a map of the stellar energies is imprinted on the new life. and remains for the life span. These describe the general personality, talents, weaknesses, types of relationships one is attracted to and so on. This natal map is like home base and does not change. However, as the day to day planets move (or appear to move) around the zodiacal belt, they combine with the natal chart in different ways that allow change and movement for the individual. For example, if Mars, a faster moving planet, enters a woman's natal place of relationship, a young man may enter her life. But as it leaves that space, he may go away. If Saturn a slower planet, enters her place of relationship, an older or more mature person, may come into her life and stay. If Saturn is connected to her past lives quadrant, she may have known him before and is immediately attracted to him. Many fascinating combinations and levels of energies enter our lives every day that allow us to experience, grow and reach our goals and destinies.
4. Are we entering the age of Aquarius in 2012?
The Aquarian age, the era of humanity, brotherhood and universal thought, can certainly be seen today as world events call us to help each other get through difficult times. Aquarius is also an energy of new technology which has exploded of late. The exact time of leaving the Piscean age and moving entirely into the Aquarian age is under debate but evidence of its nearness is spreading around the planet more and more.
